We found this James Leonard table at Planet Vintage Girl near where Amanda works. We think it fits well in its new home at New Forge, one of West Cornwall’s best holiday cottages.

Leonard designed for Esavian among other companies and produced pieces similar to the more famous Jean Prouve. One or other of them invented the compass legs that became a symbol of fifties design, using aluminium that was suddenly in abundant supply once the need to build Spitfires had evaporated.

Laura at Planet Vintage Girl has a good eye for mid century design and is worth seeking out if such work takes your fancy.
